Field Guardian Corporal (FGM-100) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, 1 Joule The Corporal (a match for the Power Wizard 1000) is slightly more powerful than the DE-300 and slightly better suited to charging a short single-wire or 3-wire baited deer fence where weeds are not an issue and where one is concerned about small animals or crawling infants contacting the fence. Voltage data: Where weeds are not an issue (on a 500-ohm circuit) the Corporal can maintain some 4,600 volts on the line, more than enough to reliably shock deer with a baited fence. It can also keep over 2000 volts on a fence with a 100-ohm weed burden, this being enough to reliably shock horses. Joule range: The Corporal produces a pulse of 1.1 joules on a 500-ohm circuit and a 1 joule pulse on a 100-ohm circuit (see About Fence Power and Joules). Other animals: Suited to powering short to medium length horse fences, the Corporal can contain most livestock large and small. This charger has plenty of power to repel small interlopers (rabbits, woodchucks, etc.), is suitable for containing dogs that weigh 10 pounds or more, and is also useful against certain large troublemakers like javelinas and feral pigs. A flashing light indicates when the electric fence charger and its immediate fence connections are working properly. |
