Designed for large acreages and long fences, this charger can deal with a wide range of challenging situations. Suitable for powering very long livestock fences (under ideal conditions up to 180 miles), it will exclude deer, contain virtually any livestock, and deter predators and other large animals including mountain lions, wolves, bears, and bison. Voltage data: The DE-4000 keeps 4,000 to 6,000 volts on the line (enough to shock virtually any animal) with weed burdens (power drains) ranging from minor (500 ohms) to major (100 ohms). The charger also has a half-power operating mode that maintains 4,000 or more volts on the line with a light to moderate (200 to 500 ohm) weed burden and over 3,000 volts with a 100-ohm weed burden. Joule range: The DE-4000 generates a pulse of 3 joules on a 500-ohm circuit and a pulse of 11 joules on a 50-ohm circuit (at half power these figures fall to 2 and 5.5 joules, respectively.
