Field Guardian Captain (FGM-600) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, Rated at 6 Joules (Actual 3-7)
This UL-listed electric fence charger (a match for the Power Wizard 6000) is well-suited to dealing with major weed burdens, deer (using both baited deer fences and unbaited deer fences), predators, and long electric fences—especially in out-of-the-way places where uninformed people are unlikely to be surprised by the electric fence. Voltage data: This electric fence charger will keep 4000 volts on the line (suitable for repelling deer with unbaited deer fences as well as bears and bison) even if there is a heavy (100 ohm) weed burden. The FGM-600 will also keep over 3000 volts on the deer fence line (enough to power a baited deer fence) in the face of a greater weed burden affording a super-easy 50-ohm path to the ground. Joule range: The FGM-600 puts out a 2.8-joule pulse on a 500-ohm circuit. A 5.4-joule pulse on a 200-ohm circuit, and a mighty 7.3-joule pulse on a 100-ohm circuit (for more information about joules see see About Fence Power and Joules). Target animals: Besides being a good choice for powering deer fences, this charger makes a good complement to long horse and cattle fences and provides the basis for good deterrence of large predators (javelinas, feral pigs, coyotes, wolves, mountain lions, bears, and bison).
