Parmak Range Master (RM-1) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, 3.5 Joules
The Range Master is Parmak's most powerful electric fence charger and the one with the most bells and whistles. The RM-1 comes with a digital performance meter that shows the voltage on the electric fence wire to within 100 volts, a multi-light display that indicates conditions on the fence, and an audible and visible shut-down alarm that goes off if the electric fence charger is not functioning properly. For a fence consisting of a single perfectly connected 12.5 gauge steel wire, the RM-1 can power over 100 miles of fence. Voltage data: Parmak states that the RM-1 puts out 15,000 volts on an open circuit but otherwise has a voltage profile similar to that of the SE-4 (8,750 volts with a 500-ohm weed burden, 4,700 volts with a massive 50-ohm weed burden). Joule range: The RM-1 is rated by us at approximately 3.5 joules. Target animals: Like the SE-4, the RM-1 is useful for repelling deer and containing both cattle and sheep. It is also well-suited to keeping out many wild animals including wolves, bears, and bison. General data: The RM-1 features advanced solid-state circuitry, fuse protection with built-in lightning arrestors, color coded positive and ground terminals, digital and LED displays, and a two-year warranty against defects and lightning damage.
