Battery-powered chargers offer several advantages over their solar and AC-powered counterparts. Weak ones can power temporary campsite, corral, and paddock fences without having to worry about a solar panel or access to AC current. Strong ones are typically stronger than the strongest solar-powered chargers, and hence can cope with longer fences, drier conditions, and more weeds. Beyond that, battery-powered chargers are less expensive than comparable solar-powered ones; and they are more versatile than AC-powered chargers because they require no hookup wire and can cope with a wide range of situations far from an AC outlet. We offer four battery-powered chargers suited to powering electric deer fences. One (the Dare Sentry 300) can use either a 6-volt or 12-volt battery, while the other three take a 12-volt battery. We also offer several smaller chargers on other websites (www.electric-horse-fence.com and www.topdogfences.com) that are suited to protecting campsites and gardens as well as to powering temporary corrals and paddocks.
