Field Guardian Commander (FGB200)

Field Guardian Commander (FGB200) Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed, Rated at 2 Joules (Actual 1.1-1.6)

The FGB200 (a match for the Power Wizard 2000B) is the strongest battery-powered charger that we offer. It is good for powering both baited and unbaited electric deer fences. Regarding batteries, a 100 amp-hour battery will power the FGB200 for 2 weeks, while a 200-amp-hour battery will run it for a month. We do not sell large “deep cycle” batteries (the kind to get) on this website, but they can be obtained at www.ebatteriestogo.com or from any local store that sells boat or golf cart batteries. Voltage data: This electric fence charger will keep over 4,000 volts on the line in full-power mode (this being more than enough to reliably shock deer on an unbaited fence) so long as the weed burden is light to moderate (providing no more than a 300-ohm path to the ground); and it will keep about 2,600 volts on the line (enough to reliably shock deer on a baited fence) when confronting a large 100-ohm weed burden. In half-power mode it can still shock deer on a baited fence, but the voltage falls to about 2,700 volts with a 300-ohm weed burden and then falls below the 2,500-volt minimum with a 100-ohm weed burden. Joule range: At full power the FGB200 puts out 1.1 joules on a 500-ohm circuit and 1.6 joules on a 200-ohm circuit. At half power it puts out 0.6 joules (while maintaining 3,000 volts) on a 500-ohm circuit and 0.7 joules (while maintaining 2,700 volts) on a 300-ohm circuit. (For more about joules see About Fence Power and Joules). Other animals: The FGB200 is our best battery-powered charger for containing livestock (including cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and exotics), for excluding deer, and for keeping out predators (including foxes, coyotes, wolves, javelinas, feral pigs, bears, and bison). General data: The FGB200 can operate in either half-power or full-power mode and will operate in full-power mode with a 55 amp-hour battery for a month. The charger comes with an all-weather case, built-in lightning protection, installation instructions, a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects and lightning damage, and a flashing light that shows when the unit and its immediate fence connections are working properly. Battery not included.
